I got home the other day and Megan had set up and lit some candles in our room. It helped to create a warm and romantic atmosphere. They smelled very good too. I like candles, so this was a very nice treat.
Unfortunately, my pillow was a little too close to the candles on the nightstand. I heard a funny noise and saw a bright light and found that my pillowcase was on fire! I pulled it away from the flame and blew it out, but my poor pillow had danced the fire dance.
Other than ruining the atmosphere of the evening, the sad thing was the poor pillow case. I bought it in Hawaii about 7 years ago and this is the first pillow that it's fit really well, so this is really the first time it's been used. I really liked it too.
Luckily, things weren't all bad. We were able to save the pillow, and thanks to some fancy sewing by Megan, we saved a lot of the pillow case. I now have a square pillow, but I still get to keep the happy Hawaiian case for a little while. Eventually it will go the way of the world, but it's here for now. Happy day.
