I like mirrors... Mirrors start with the letter 'M'

I woke up early this morning because My Megan was trying to tell me something. I couldn't quite understand what she was saying, I'm not sure if it was because I was still half asleep or if it was because she was talking gibberish. I kept asking her to repeat herself, but I just couldn't understand. Finally, she said something that made sense: "Didn't you set your alarm? you need to start getting ready for work, you're late." I looked over at the clock, and it read 4:30am. "Megan," I said, "I don't need to get ready for work, I need to go back to sleep."
My Megan didn't want to sleep, she wanted to talk. "I don't like bugs," she said.
"Good thing we live here, it's cold enough right now that there aren't many bugs out," I said.
"Yes, they frozen in the ground. Hehehehe, frozen ants. I hate ants."
"Me too, lucky us, let's go back to sleep."
I had a few minutes of rest before My Megan started talking again. "I like mirrors," she said.
    "Which mirrors?" I asked.
"They're pretty. We have a mirror in the closet."
"Yes, I still need to hang it up, I can do that tomorrow."
"It's beautiful... Mirrors start with the letter 'M'."
    "So does 'Megan'."
"Yes, so does Mike," she replied and hugged me. That was nice and relaxing. I tried to go back to sleep.
"'M' is scary, I need to hide from 'M.' With the letter 'H,'" she said, as she pulled the blankets over her head.
    "Why 'H'?" I asked.
    "Because hide starts with 'H'."
"Okay, Megan, I really need to get some sleep."
I rolled over and was just about asleep when she asked "how's your back."
    "It's doing okay."
    "What about the seagull's back?"
    "What seagull?"
"I'm worried about his back, do seagulls even have backs?"
    "I'm pretty sure they do."
"I'm going to look it up tomorrow."
"Sounds good to me, you should try to get some sleep, Megan."
"Mine, mine, mine... Mine starts with the letter 'M'... That was a brilliant movie."
    "Yes, it was."
The conversation went on until 5:30am. I just wanted to sleep. My Megan just didn't want to sleep. What wonderful surprises come from being married to My Megan. I wish I had recorded this one.

  1. Hahaha! Bart is a sleep talker (and walker). I just tell him he needs to go back to sleep and it will be ok. If I say it a couple times, he will usually listen.
